Baby Noah!!!

We are so excited that Noah is finally here. He arrived March 22, 2010 at 8:47 pm, weighing 8 pounds 13 ounces and 21 inches long. He definitely had a long journey coming into this world.

We were over Ian's parents house sunday night when I started to feel some contractions. I thought that I was just feeling them because I really wanted him to come, but they were real. We started to time the contractions around 8pm, by then they were about 3-5 minutes apart. I did not want to call Labor and Delivery because I did not want to go to the hospital, and then have them send us back home. Ian insisted that we call so we did, of course they said to come in so that I could get checked out. To my surprise, I was actually admitted to L & d! Ian and I were so excited because the day was finally here!
I was admitted around 11pm sunday March 21st. Once I was admitted I was given an IV with some drugs to make me comfortable. The next morning we were told some news that I was not expecting. They said that my contractions were not regular anymore and that if I wanted, I would be able to go home. We were shocked! That was something that we did not want to hear.
I was given a choice of being induced that day and I ran with it. I was soon put on pitocin and my contractions started to become steady. I was in so much pain! The midwife checked me a few hours later (11 am) and she told me that I was 5cm dilated! I was so ready to get my epidural at that time. I really wanted to give birth without any pain medicine, but I found out that I did not have a high pain tolerance. I was administered the epidural and felt so much better. Around 1pm I was dilated to 6cm I was so excited I thought for sure that he was going to get here around 6 or 7pm. The midwife checked me twice after she said that I was 6cm, but I was still at 6cm. By this time (8pm) I was running a fever and my blood pressure was high, Noah's heartbeat was also high.
The doctor came in to tell me the only news that I did not want to hear. She said that I needed a C-section because the baby's head would not be able to come out of the birth canal and also because I had an infection. I was so terrified! I started to freak-out because I did not want to be cut open. Ian was told to put on his scrubs because they really needed to get the baby out.
I was rushed to the room to get ready for the C-section. I was already numb, but they had to check to make sure I was completely numb. I was still able to feel the poke tests that they were doing, by this time the baby's heartbeat rose to over 200 ! I was told that they needed to put me on general anesthesia because the baby was not doing well. I was put down and Noah came into this world.
During the time that I was in the C-section room, Ian was waiting to be let in to the room so that he could be with me during the birth. Unfortunately, Ian told me that he had no clue that they were going to put me down, when someone went out to "bring him in to the operating room" he was in for the surprise of his life. He was told "congratulations on your baby boy".
He was so upset that no one told him what was going on. He was not allowed in for the birth of his son, and since I was an emergency C-section he was not able to see the baby right away.
Noah and I were release March 25 at 9pm. We were so excited to bring him home. I would definitely do everything over for him, but for now we are going to wait a long while to give him a brother or sister.

Starting it off..

Ok, so I finally gave in. I didn't want to start a blog because it would just take too much time, but since I am officially on maternity leave I have time to keep it up.

Pregnancy update....

I went into the hospital March 1st because I was having contractions, I was not admitted because after one hour of walking my cervix was still at 2cm. I have not felt any contractions since. I am due March 18th, but I really want him now! I am so uncomfortable, I am ready to do whatever it takes to get him out.
